Doonbeg Golf Club opened to the public in 2002 following a large scale investment in this 5 star golf and spa resort. The golf course itself was designed by Greg Norman and uses the Co. Clare Atlantic coast line to shape this excellent addition to Ireland’s links courses.

Its a par 72 layout with the traditonal 9-out-9-in design. Its not overly long but like all links it doesn’t have to be – the Atlantic winds add lenght when needed. The coast can be seen from 16 of the 18 holes and it has been designed for future international championships in mind. Since it is a relatively new course it still has some maturing to do but we feel it is a worthy addition to any golf vacation. It is located a short drive from Shannon International Airport and some of clients like to use the course to fit in one extra round before they depart – it certainly won’t disappoint.
